Nancy found this 48K sales post card in with an old Singer 28 machine at the auction the other day. Needless to say we
placed a large bid on the machine in order to ensure we won the auction. I know the guys at the auction house were courious
as to why we bid so much more than usual for a Singer 28.
Sales literature on the 48K is near impossible to find. This is the only postcard deplicting the 48K that we know of.
Does anyone else have any sales literature on this model?
This is one of my favorite machines. The SINGER 48K How rare they are, I do not know. Some people believe
they are quite rare. How many collectors do you know that have one? two? Judge for yourself. These machines seem to
date from around 1900 to 1906. The head is that of a Singer 12 but the base is square like a 27/28. The serial
number is also located on the back of the machine rather than under the brass Singer badge.

Just thought we would take this picture to share with our friends who have 48k machines. Some we have searched
out, others just found us. We have sold two 48K machines. So the total 48Ks that we have owned is 8. Kind
of silly but all collectors have one particular item they like more than any others, these happen to be my favorites.
